Hormone therapy for women
Progesterone Therapy for Women in Port St. Lucie, FL
Often the piece that finally fixes sleep.
Awake at three in the morning for no reason you can name, with a mind that won't settle. That's one of the first things to go in perimenopause, and progesterone is often what brings it back. It also protects the uterine lining when you're taking estrogen.
It's taken at night, and a full night's sleep is what most women notice first. Visits happen at our Port St. Lucie office or by video, with your medication shipped to your door.
$160 each time you refill, including your follow-up visit, your medication, and your follow-up labs. You pay for your initial bloodwork only.

What it does
Two reasons we prescribe it.
Sometimes progesterone is the whole prescription, and sometimes it goes alongside estradiol. Which one depends on your symptoms and your history.
Sleep
Progesterone has a calming effect for most women, and better sleep is the change they tend to notice first and appreciate most.
Perimenopausal cycle changes
Irregular cycles, heavier bleeding, and the mood changes that come with them often trace back to progesterone falling before estrogen does.
Protection alongside estrogen
If you still have your uterus and take estradiol, progesterone protects the uterine lining. Prescribed together at $190 each refill.
Anxiety and irritability
The low-grade anxiety of perimenopause often eases when progesterone is restored. It isn't a substitute for mental health care when that's what you need.
Shipped to your door
Your prescription arrives from our partner pharmacy with clear instructions, usually to be taken at night.
Follow-up labs included
After your initial bloodwork, every lab we run is part of your refill price.

Good to know
What we want you to know going in.
- Progesterone protects the uterine lining. If you're taking estrogen and still have your uterus, the two go together.
- Take it at night. The calming effect works in your favor when it's timed that way.
- Your prescription is made for you. A licensed pharmacy compounds it individually, which means it isn't FDA-approved the way a drug off the shelf is.
- Unexplained bleeding gets looked into first. Anything new or unusual deserves an answer before we start therapy, and we'll help you get one.
- Give it a cycle or two. Dose and timing often need one adjustment before things settle.
- This isn't birth control. If you need contraception too, just say so and we'll handle that separately.
How it works
What progesterone therapy looks like, start to finish.
Start with a visit
In the office or by video. We go through your cycle history, your sleep, your mood, and whether estrogen belongs in the plan too.
Labs and your plan
We order bloodwork when it's useful and match your prescription to your symptoms and history.
Medication comes to you
Your prescription arrives at your door with instructions, including when in the day or cycle to take it.
Recheck and adjust
Follow-up labs are included, and we adjust the timing or dose until it fits.

Questions, answered.
What does progesterone therapy cost?
$160 each time you refill, which includes your follow-up visit, your medication, and your follow-up labs. If you need estradiol as well, the two together are $190.
Do I need progesterone if I'm taking estrogen?
If you still have your uterus, yes. Progesterone protects the uterine lining during estrogen therapy, so it's prescribed alongside it rather than instead of it.
Can I take progesterone on its own?
Yes, and for a lot of women in perimenopause that's the right answer, especially when sleep, anxiety, and cycle changes are the main complaints.
When do I take it?
Usually at night, since the calming effect helps you sleep. Your exact timing is part of your plan and may follow your cycle.
Do I have to come into the office?
No. Progesterone works by video anywhere in Florida, and your medication ships to your door. You're welcome at our Port St. Lucie office if you'd rather be seen in person.
Is progesterone the same as birth control?
No. Hormone therapy and contraception are different things, and you shouldn't rely on progesterone therapy to prevent pregnancy.
Can I use insurance or my membership?
No. Hormone therapy is self-pay, and it isn't part of the Luma membership.
