Vitamin B12 Injections in Port St. Lucie, FL

The one people actually feel.

If you're dragging through the afternoon no matter how early you went to bed, low B12 is worth ruling out. It sits behind how your cells make energy, how your nerves stay protected, and how your body builds red blood cells, and fatigue is usually the first sign that you're short.

It's the most requested shot we give, especially for people who are tired in a way that more sleep doesn't seem to fix. The visit takes about fifteen minutes at our Port St. Lucie office.

$35 a shot, or about $27 a shot when you buy a 12-pack.

What it does

Why B12 gets asked for most.

A quick shot in the upper arm. Here's what it helps with.

Energy that isn't caffeine

B12 is part of how your cells produce energy, and low levels usually show up as fatigue before anything else.

Nerve function

It supports the protective sheath around your nerves, which is why running low can cause tingling or numbness in your hands and feet.

Red blood cells

Your body needs B12 to build them properly, and low levels are a well-known cause of one type of anemia.

Who tends to run low

Vegetarians and vegans, people over 50, anyone on metformin or a long-term acid reducer, and people who've had weight loss surgery.

Why a shot instead of a pill

An injection skips absorption in the gut entirely, which matters most when the gut is where the trouble is.

Fast and forgettable

A small shot in the upper arm, done in a minute, with nothing to recover from.

Good to know

What we want you to know going in.

  • This is a wellness injection. If you think you might be genuinely deficient, a primary care visit with bloodwork will give you a real answer, and we're happy to start there instead.
  • Your first shot starts with a brief evaluation. B12 is a prescription medication, so your nurse practitioner writes the order before it's given.
  • B12 is water soluble, so your body clears what it doesn't use. That's part of why it has such a wide safety margin.
  • Frequency varies. Some people come weekly for a stretch, others monthly. We'll talk about what makes sense for you.
  • Mention your medications. Metformin and long-term acid reducers both affect your B12 levels.
  • If fatigue is the main concern, it's worth checking your thyroid, your sleep, and for anemia as well. We can do that in primary care.

Is this right for you

Who B12 injections are for.

A good fit if you

  • Are tired in a way that rest doesn't fix
  • Are vegetarian or vegan, or over 50
  • Take metformin or a long-term acid reducer
  • Want a quick boost in a short, scheduled visit

This may not be what you need if you

  • Are being treated for a diagnosed deficiency. That belongs in primary care with labs.
  • Can't come into either office, since injections are in-clinic only
  • Expect one shot to resolve fatigue that's been going on for years

Cabrini is the absolute best! She is so accommodating when it comes to scheduling. My daughter was apprehensive and anxious about the visit and getting the bloodwork done and Cabrini was so patient, understanding and really took her time to explain everything to my daughter and put her at ease during the visit to make her more comfortable when it was time for the blood to be drawn. I would 100% recommend Cabrini to anyone looking for a doctor who cares, who is knowledgeable and sees you as a person and not just another patient on the list. She is everything I was looking for in a doctor. The quality of her care is unmatched.

Good to know

Questions, answered.

What does a B12 injection cost?

$35 a shot. Packs are $125 for four, $230 for eight, and $320 for twelve, and they can be used for B12, Vitamin D3, or Tri-Immune in any combination.

How often should I get one?

It depends on why you're getting it. Some people come weekly for a few weeks and then space them out, others come monthly. We'll give you an honest recommendation at your visit.

Will I feel it right away?

Some people notice a difference within a day or two, especially if they were running low. Others don't notice anything dramatic. Both are normal.

Why not just take a B12 pill?

Pills work well for many people. A shot helps most when absorption in the gut is the problem, which is common with age, with metformin and acid reducers, and after weight loss surgery.

Do I need an appointment?

Yes. B12 is a prescription medication, so your nurse practitioner reviews your history and writes the order before it's given.

Can I get this by video?

No. Injections are given in the office, either in Port St. Lucie or Greenacres.

Can I use insurance or my membership?

No. Vitamin injections are self-pay, and they aren't part of the Luma membership.
